War from the loved one’s perspective on the homefront

“you have a whole new life–I have half an old one Your life is so far away from mine, I don’t see how they’re ever going to come back together…I get strained and –frightened, I guess, and I say things I could cut my throat for saying. But you know what I really feel about you. I’m so proud of you I can’t find words for it. I know you’re doing the most important thing in the world, maybe the only important thing in the world. Only…I wish to heaven you didn’t love doing it so much!”

I think this is a truly excellent idea for a blog. The only thing I wish is you would tell readers the sources of each item. I think “The Lovely Leave” is probably one of Mrs. Parker’s finest short stories, but if the reader does not know this is the source of the blog post, perhaps they can’t go to a book store and find a the Portable Dorothy Parker and read more.

All in all, a terrific blog. It shows that Dorothy Parker’s words are timeless.

Kevin, thanks for the input…I’ll start doing that. I agree, Parker is timeless.
